Flaws to Features: Embracing Imperfections

Join us for "Flaws to Features," a process driven, expressive art workshop celebrating the beauty of imperfection and creative expression. We'll start with a blind contour drawing of your hand using sharpies, embracing the spontaneous and messy process. This exercise will help you connect with the creativity and beauty your hands can produce.

Next, we'll transform these drawings with watercolors and colorful markers, turning perceived flaws into vibrant features. This activity will encourage you to see beyond imperfections and recognize the potential for beauty in every mark. Throughout, we'll explore the hand-heart connection, reflecting on how our emotions and intentions flow through our hands into our art.

We'll also include a brief journaling exercise to delve into themes of failure, resilience, and self-acceptance, enriching your understanding of the creative process and personal growth.

By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a unique piece of art that embodies your ability to transform flaws into features and embrace the unplanned beauty of life.

Open to all levels, this workshop is an opportunity to unlock your creativity and find joy in the imperfect.

What to bring: Bring your journal! All art materials will be provided- however if you have your own set of materials you enjoy, I encourage you to bring them. Any set of colored pencils, markers, watercolors or even crayons work well for these activities.
